MEET the BOARD:

President: Patricia Ann Kellner has found lost family members using Genealogy and DNA, reunited adoptees to their families, and developed successful Genetic Genealogy strategies. Patricia manages over 30 DNA tests, runs Facebook DNA/Genealogy groups, has hosted family reunions, and created an extensive family tree. Patricia has presented lectures on a wide variety of Genetic Genealogy (DNA) topics to the Long Island community.

Vice President: Jeanne Bayer manages 22 DNA tests for family members and has been researching her family history for 8 years. Using DNA and Genealogy, Jeanne was able to identify her previously unknown great, great grandparents in Finland, despite difficult Scandinavian patronymic naming patterns. Jeanne serves on board of the DNA Genealogy Group of Long Island and is the President of the Irish Family History Forum.

Past President and Interim Treasurer: Michael Carragher has been working on his personal family history and genealogy for over 20 years and manages over 30 DNA test kits at multiple companies. He also is conducting a one-name study of his Carragher surname. Mike is the Past President of the DNA Genealogy Group of Long Island and served as Past President of the Irish Family History Forum from 2011-2017.

Secretary: Gail Gannotti has been working on her Family Tree for more than 20 years. Using DNA research techniques, Gail has found many distant cousins living in the U.S., Europe, and South America. Gail has reunited several adoptees with their families and manages several DNA tests. An active member of local genealogy societies, as well as state and national societies, Gail is also a board member of the Irish Family History Forum.

Director: Karen Worrell has been involved in family history research for almost 20 years, Since 1999, Karen has been a member of Ancestry.com where she has built her family tree. Recently, she has done DNA testing with Ancestry.com and 23 & Me and connected with family members on both the maternal side and paternal side of her family. Karen runs a Facebook group for members of her maternal side and shares information with many maternal cousins.

Director: Carol Peckham Poulos has 18 years of genealogy experience. She got involved with Genetic Genealogy, in 2008, with her father’s Y DNA test. In 2013, Carol began working with Autosomal DNA testing and now manages family kits at 5 companies and Gedmatch. Since 2004, Carol has regularly attended the Salt Lake Christmas Tour for a week of Genealogy classes including Genetics, and research at the Family History Library.
